Matthew K. Marin, died tragically on Sunday, September 21, 2008 in a car accident, he was 25 years old.

The Matthew K. Marin Foundation, is a non-profit organization that was established in 2010 in memory of Matthew. The mission of the Matthew K. Marin Foundation is to assist families and individuals in the Western New York area who are experiencing financial and/or personal hardship brought about by unforeseen crises or tragedy.
A Review Committee set up by the Board of Directors, will assess the applications and award a $500.00 grant on a semi-annual basis to applicants with a significant need. Submitting a request for funds to The Matthew K. Marin Foundation and completion of this application is completely voluntary. The information supplied will be kept confidential and may be reviewed only by individuals involved in administering the Fund.
The Foundation requires that a current or past member of the Niagara Falls Hockey Alumni sponsor the applicant and must verify that the need for assistance by the Foundation is genuine. Decisions regarding applications will be communicated in writing to the applicants.
The Marin Family has also setup a $500.00 scholarship at Villa Maria College for student that are interested in pursuing a degree in Graphic Arts and Design. The College requires a written essay on their mission to pursue a Graphic Art and Design career..
